For the second year in a row, Truex Cullins & Partners participated in “CANstruction,” the national charity of the design and construction industry created by the Society for Design Administration. This year, ten teams created sculptures out of canned goods to be donated to the Vermont Foodbank; from the Statehouse in Montpelier to our very own “Frank-can-stein.” We were delighted to hear from Judy Stermer, Special Events/Public Relations Coordinator at the Vermont Foodbank that this year’s effort was a huge success. We recently received this e-mail message from her:

“The food has been weighed and the totals are in. This year’s CANstruction raised 18,932 pounds of food. That’s almost double the amount of last year! The food raised this weekend is considered supplemental food (food that will enhance nutrition and quantity of meals), and for the rest of this year, the food that you raised will feed 531 people EVERYday. Pretty incredible!

On behalf of everyone at the Vermont Foodbank, thank you for all the time and energy you put into making this event so successful. Besides the thousands of lbs of food raised, we were able to raise awareness about food insecurity in our state—and what people are doing to end hunger in Vermont.”
