It was the donor's wish that the Hoehl Welcome Center look as if it had been at the college for 100 years and that the materials selected link back to the local community. When designing the interior spaces of the building, TruexCullins Interiors worked with local craftspeople and selected local materials to achieve a comfortable and inviting living room space for prospective students visiting Saint Michael's College. It was the college's wish to furnish a portion of the Welcome Center using oak trees growing on the campus near the Winooski River. With this project, Saint Michael’s College strengthened the relationship between a healthy environment and a sustainable economy.
